Recently E-learning environment become more useful for presenting and providing learning materials over online services, which has gained significant popularity. E-learning is a multi-dimensional activity where each dimension should be most organization adequately supported by an E-learning system to provide fruitful learning materials to those are interest to read by online, a new experience for most users. The core problem of the current E-learning representation is the formalization of the learning concepts, which form the backbone of knowledge base about the domain or task setting, otherwise the student incapable to practice the different technology to enhance their ability to contribute. Hence, this study aimed to design and develop a virtual learning environment based on the user or student profile. Additionally, the propose system provide users with multi learning materials based on their searching profile. Use test case was adopted in this study for evaluating the system functionalities

Vision based dynamic thermal comfort control using fuzzy logic and deep learning

    Get PDF
A wide range of techniques exist to help control the thermal comfort of an occupant in indoor environments. A novel technique is presented here to adaptively estimate the occupant’s metabolic rate. This is performed by utilising occupant’s actions using computer vision system to identify the activity of an occupant. Recognized actions are then translated into metabolic rates. The widely used Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) thermal comfort index is computed using the adaptivey estimated metabolic rate value. The PMV is then used as an input to a fuzzy control system. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated using simulations of various activities. The integration of PMV thermal comfort index and action recognition system gives the opportunity to adaptively control occupant’s thermal comfort without the need to attach a sensor on an occupant all the time. The obtained results are compared with the results for the case of using one or two fixed metabolic rates. The included results appear to show improved performance, even in the presence of errors in the action recognition system

The use of natural products in herbs to improve the efficiency of feed utilization and meat quality is important than antibiotics. The objectives of this study were to assess the effect of supplementation fenugreek seed powder on processed broiler chicken meat and carcass characteristics. A total of hundred and eight day-old male broiler chicks (Ross 308) were used at Elbashair farm in Wad Medani, Sudan. Chicks were randomly assigned in a completely randomized design into three groups (A, B and C) with three replicates. The experimental diets (starter and finisher) were formulated to satisfy the nutritional requirements of broiler chicks. The control birds (C) were fed a balanced broiler starter diet ad lib. Group (A) was fed basal diets supplemented with fenugreek seed powder (FSP) at1% ad lib in the first three days weekly for two weeks. Group (B) was fed basal diets supplemented with FSP at 1 % ad lib for the first 3 days through the entire period of the experiment (6weeks). At the end of the experiment, the birds live body weights were recorded and body weight gain was calculated. Two birds from each replicate were slaughtered, chilled and then weighed. Carcass weight, breast, thigh, deboned breast and deboned thigh weights were taken.Taste, flavor, tenderness, number of chewings and juiciness were determined using a taste panel. The results revealed that birds fed on 1% FSP recorded no significant differences in body weight gain compared to groups fed on control diet. Treatments had no significant effects on breast and thigh weight. Moreover, there were no significant effects on breast and thigh bones. Broiler fed FSP had no significant differences in tenderness, juiciness, flavor and taste and number of chewings of thigh meat. Also, no significant differences were found in breast meat tenderness, flavor and taste. There were significant differences in juiciness and highly significant differences in number of chewings. There were no significant difference in moisture content but there were significant difference in ash and highly significant differences in fat and protein. The study recommended using 1% fenugreek seed powder for improving brioler carcass weight and meat quality. &nbsp

Background: Pulmonary function tests (PFT) serve as a tool of health assessment and as a predictor of occupational fitness. Police officers must develop and maintain high levels of physical fitness for physical demanding tasks they perform. The training program starts with confinement of five to eight weeks according to the trainee. Previously it has been shown that the police students have better lung functions values compared to their civilian colleagues. In this study the effect of the confinement training on pulmonary function tests was investigated. Methods: Eighty one policemen trainee were randomly selected from a new batch in the faculty of police sciences and Law, the National Ribat University, Khartoum, Sudan at their starting confinement period. Subjects were medically fit with no history of Diabetes, Hypertension, Asthma or use of any long term medications. Pulmonary function tests (FVC, FEV1 and PEFR) were performed using a micro-plus spirometer. Blood pressure, pulse rate, and hemoglobin were measured. All these were repeated at the end of the confinement. Results: The age of participants ranged from 24 to 26 years. FVC, FEV1 and PEFR significantly increased after the confinement period. The blood pressure and the pulse significantly decreased. The weight of the participants decreased after the confinement but Hb significantly slightly increased. Conclusions: Regular police training during the confinement improved the pulmonary and cardiovascular reserve function
